Don Julio Foods

Dreams do come true! At least that is true for Craig Fisher, President of Don Julio Foods Inc. Many years ago while serving a mission for the L.D.S. Church among the Navajo Indians in Arizona Craig learned to love spicy foods. After returning home in 1971, he made up his mind that one day he wanted to be in the manufacturing business. He wanted to stay with his roots in the food industry, and thus began his career.

Morrison Meat Pies

Thomas Henry Morrison was born November 16, 1847 in Wellington, New Zealand. He immigrated to the United States and then directly to Utah in about 1880. He married Susana Baker on the 27th of March in Salt Lake City. Thomas Henry Morrison brought something unique and valuable with him from New Zealand - an old family recipe for delicious Scottish meat pies. Thomas and his wife started making these meat pies in 1883 in their own kitchen. They had a small pushcart and each day he would push the cart all the way to downtown Salt Lake.

Morgan Valley Lamb

The Gillmor family has been in the sheep business for over three generations. Many of the traditional ways of raising sheep have not changed over this time. Fresh air, clean water, and wholesome forage make the best lamb. Utah terrain grows some of the best tasting lamb in the world, but most of the lamb raised in Utah leaves the state, going to markets on the east and west coasts. In 2001, Jamie and Linda Gillmor, owners of Morgan Valley Lamb began marketing their naturally raised lambs to local high end restaurants and quality supermarkets in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. The Gillmors enjoy cooking "home-style" lamb dinners for their friends and family, and meeting face to face with their farmer’s market and home delivery customers.

Colosimo's Sausage

According to the Colosimo family, Ralph Colosimo didn't come to Utah in 1921 from his home in Calabria, Italy to make sausage. He immigrated to America for the same reasons so many people from foreign lands find their way here today: to raise a family and to find opportunities that didn't exist back home. And so, in the early 1920s, Ralph Colosimo found himself working in Utah's mining towns, occasionally sharing his homemade Italian sausages with friends and co-workers
