Pop Weaver

Pop Weaver

In 1928 Reverend Ira E. Weaver began his business by shucking, bagging, and delivering his own carefully grown popcorn. His hope was to develop a brand of popcorn that not only tastes great and is of the highest quality, but costs less.

Ira's business thrived. Even in the face of the Great Depression, people were willing to spend a few cents on a bag or two of Ira Weaver's fresh, great tasting popcorn. Then, as now, popcorn was considered a special, affordable treat for kids and grownups alike.

Hickoryworks

The thick, amber-colored syrup is the sticky stuff of legend. Its smoky, nutty flavor is less sweet than maple, more complex, and hauntingly unique. And the thousands of chefs and home gourmets who count themselves among the converted can tell you that Gordon Jones is definitely not barking up the wrong tree. Jones and wife Sherrie Yarling, the country's sole producers of Shagbark Hickory Syrup, live and work on 64-acres of land in Brown County, Indiana that boasts a six-acre lake, and rich groves of hickory, ash, oak and poplar trees.

Sechler's Pickles

Sechler's Pickles

Sechler's first product available to the consumer was Genuine Dill Pickles (which is still available from Sechler's today as Genuine "Aged in Wood" Dill Pickles.) Sweet relish and sweet pickles soon followed. Sweet pickles quickly became a Sechler specialty. Candied Sweet Orange Strip Pickles were added in 1940, being a Sechler's favorite ever since. Pasteurized "Fresh Pack" pickles were introduced to the Sechler's line in 1958. Innovative product development has been a constant over the years, to where Sechler's now offers over 45 items to the consumer, many of these unique.
