The Peanut Shop

Located in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg is The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg, the place where our own "founding fathers" began. It was in that tiny shop where our small batch, hand-cooked roasting techniques were developed & perfected. While the shop is still there, we have long since moved our roasting kitchen to larger confines just north of Williamsburg while staying true to our original cooking traditions.

Morrison Meat Pies

Thomas Henry Morrison was born November 16, 1847 in Wellington, New Zealand. He immigrated to the United States and then directly to Utah in about 1880. He married Susana Baker on the 27th of March in Salt Lake City. Thomas Henry Morrison brought something unique and valuable with him from New Zealand - an old family recipe for delicious Scottish meat pies. Thomas and his wife started making these meat pies in 1883 in their own kitchen. They had a small pushcart and each day he would push the cart all the way to downtown Salt Lake.

Whittington's Jerky

D. J. Whittingon started making Whittington's Jerky in 1962 or 1963 (and don't get him started). Our family was amazed at the consumer acceptance and overwhelming demand for more. At the time we were operating a locker plant and had a full line of products such as hams, bacon, sausage, and custom processing. All of these were a story in themselves, but the one product we became known for was our Jerky. So in 1999 we sold the locker and decided to simplify our lives and build a new facility for jerky only.

Texas Aggie Beef Jerky

The Rosenthal Meat Science & Technology Center in the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University has been producing beef jerky since the 1980's. Texas Aggie Brand Beef Jerky, developed in Animal Science 307 laboratories, has long been an Aggie favorite and has recently received national recognition by The New York Times. The Times had the following to say about Aggie Jerky: “The curled husks looked like the bark harvested from a magical meat tree. There was an outdoorsy smokiness on the nose and a slowly unfolding flavor with a fierce black pepper finish.”
