Kar's Nuts has been providing quality nut and snack items to customers throughout Michigan since 1933, and was incorporated in 1939. The company was originally founded by the Karpe family. We began the business in our Detroit home by roasting nuts in our kitchen for sale across the street at Tiger Stadium. Response to our roasting method and taste was fantastic and the business was born.

Frank Germack Sr. originally came to America through New York City's Ellis Island when he was just a boy. While growing up in the United States, he longed for a taste of his homeland, in particular, the pistachio nut that had long been a staple in Greece, Turkey and throughout the Middle East. So, in an attempt to fill this noticeable void, Frank Germack Sr. moved to Detroit and started Germack Pistachio Company in 1924.
