You have had rice before, but you were probably not impressed. You've eaten that same bland, mushy rice longer than you can remember. Imagine a rice just as flavorful with or without the trimmings. An aroma of popcorn that fills the house and tempts your taste buds. That's "Ellis Stansel's Gourmet Rice."
I would like very much to share with you one of the very good treasures we have here in Louisiana, "Ellis Stansel's Gourmet Rice" (we call it Popcorn Rice) - I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Stansel's gourmet rice originated from a strain aromatic rice imported from Pakistan via France in the 1920's. Stansel says the original rice had such a terrible smell that it would "run you out of the kitchen" when it was cooking. With hybridization and Stansel's control of the important factors of growth, fertilization, cutting time, drying and milling, a gourmet rice has emerged to please the palates of food lovers around the world.

Big Daddy's restaurant is known as one of the best places for ribs in Des Moines and as an excellent caterer. They catered to President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore while the two politicians were visiting Iowa.
Many celebrities have professed their fondness for his mouth-watering food and unique sauces. Big Daddy has received local and national attention for his sauces. He has appeared on Peter Jennings World News Tonight and the Early Show with Bryant Gumbel, among others.

Cookies Food Products, manufacturer of "the award-winning sauces America loves to eat," had its start in a small town in Northwest Iowa. L.D. Cook of Wall Lake, Iowa, produced the first batch of Cookies Bar "B""Q" Sauce in his kitchen in 1976. A year later, Speed Herrig, another local Wall Lake resident, took over the sales duties and hit the road selling his outdoor cooking product out of the back of his pickup. His hard work and persistence paid off. In 1984, Herrig bought the company from Cook. At that time the sauce was being bottled in a small building on the edge of town. Today, Cookies products are still produced in Wall Lake, but Herrig and the Cookies crew are housed in a modern 105,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

In 1965, the four Daoud brothers were embarking on a fast food journey that would soon embody the Great American Dream of owning a successful business. Working odd jobs and attending college, the brothers scraped together $1,200 and combined it with cash advances on vending machines to buy their first restaurant, Hamburger Heaven in Mt. Washington. Included with the restaurant was a recipe for Cincinnati-style chili.
With much tinkering and reformulating of the recipe, the brothers settled on what has become one of Cincinnati's classic tastes. To this day, the spice blend is a closely guarded secret that remains within the family. The brothers renamed the restaurant Gold Star Chili and opened two additional restaurants within a year responding to the chili's popularity. From the beginning, the Daoud brothers worked hard to put Cincinnati on the map with Gold Star Chili. They created a product to exacting specifications and perfected its preparation.
